Voicemails for Friends is a phone number my friends can call to hear the message I left them that day.

It's pretty simple. Everyday, I think of my friends and leave them a message on this dedicated number.
I tell them about a new bit I'm working on or a movie I watched or ask them if they're free for dinner. If they want to respond, they just reach out on my real number. It's kind of my version of "social media" but without all the nonsense.
What was I thinking?
“I think phone calls are actually the most pure way to connect with someone that's away from you. Compared to social media and other forms of communication like email or text, it's the least performative but most personal way to talk. Even video calls feel a bit unnatural to me because you can see yourself in the corner and get distracted with notifications and other effects and stuff. So this is me basically trying to share with all my friends in the most pure way possible.
This project is also quite healthy for me because everyday, I think about people I love and leave them a note. It's a daily practice of gratitude.
